For the first time, the Centre of Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) of Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) participated with their partners in Greece, the Hellenic Management Centre (HMC), at the Posidonia Exhibition, the largest shipping exhibition in Europe. From 6 to 10 of June, Posidonia welcomed more than 22,000 shipping industry professionals who visited the world’s most prestigious maritime event to meet, network and do business with more than 1,800 exhibitors from 90 countries deployed across 40,000 sqm at Athens Metropolitan Expo.

CCLS’s shared stand with HMC was a meeting point for maritime professionals, lawyers, ICS members and students, etc., and for CCLS particularly, provided a pertinent context for the promotion of the LLM in International Shipping Law in Piraeus. Posidonia exhibition gave us an excellent opportunity to introduce the programme to the wider shipping sector and to enhance CCLS’ position in the maritime education landscape in Greece.

CCLS have a world-wide acclaimed reputation as a provider of high quality education in commercial law, which can be placed at the service of governments, public bodies, overseas institutions, the legal profession, industry and commerce. To this end, the LLM in International Shipping Law in Piraeus honours the long established Greek tradition in shipping by bringing a programme of excellent academic standards in the heart of a major international shipping centre. It is delivered by the CCLS academic staff at the prestigious facilities of the HMC in Piraeus, and it is designed to equip maritime professionals and graduates alike with an in depth understanding of legal theory while gaining new perspectives on shipping issues. The programme is taught in six intensive blocks throughout two academic semesters, so that it can be fitted in with their other professional commitments.

For this academic year, CCLS is offering two partial scholarships for the LLM programme taught in Piraeus, which are open till the 12th of August to all Home/EU applicants who have received an offer for the programme. More information can be found on our website:
