The School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens invites you to apply for participating in the team of students that will represent the School in the third edition of the NILOS Moot Court Competition, which will be organised online in May 2022 (dates to be announced soon).
Students are called to act as the agents of the two (fictional) parties, in a case simulating proceedings under Part XV of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The moot court will simulate proceedings before the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) or the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or an Annex VII Arbitral Tribunal. The competition will be a unique opportunity to discuss fascinating issues of the law of the sea and also to engage with the many procedural facets of international dispute settlement.
We need to select a team of 3 to 5 members. The competition is open to all law students, undergraduate and postgraduate alike.
Students are invited to send a full CV as expression of interest to Associate Professor Maria Gavouneli: mgavoun[at]law.uoa[dot]gr with copy to Dr. Efthymios Papastavridis: papastavridis[at]academyofathens[dot]gr, Ms. Konstantina Meletiadou: konsmele[at]hotmail[dot]com and Mr. Dimitrios Panousos: dpanousos[at]law.uoa[dot]gr. Please mention your grades on all international law courses along with other activities you deem relevant. The deadline for applications is Saturday, 9 October 2021. The logistics of the first meeting will be sent to all applicants!
