European Law Moot Court Competition
2021/2022 Edition
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva offers Master students and students registered in the Certificate of Transnational Law (CTL) the opportunity to be part of the University of Geneva’s team participating in the European Law Moot Court Competition’s 2021-2022 edition. The competition will start in September 2021.
The competition consists of three phases (from September 2021 to April 2022). The first one requires each team to submit two written pleadings, one on behalf of the applicant and the other one on behalf of the defendant (November 2021). The teams selected on the basis of the written pleadings will then be called to plead in one of the regional finals, which will be held in four different European cities (February 2022). The winners of each regional final will be invited to plead before the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg for the all-European final (April 2022).
The European Law Moot Court, which combines a written and an oral exercise, is, undoubtedly, a unique experience to apply the knowledge acquired during your studies and to experience at first-hand the practical aspects of the legal profession. Master students will be granted 18 ECTS for their participation to the European Law Moot Court, while CTL students will obtain 12 ECTS. The competition is bilingual in French and English, therefore, a good knowledge of both languages is required.
